At one time or another we have gotten bogged down on the number that appears in front of us when we hop on the scales. However, this can sometimes be a poor indication of the changes that are occurring within our bodies as we embark on our health and fitness journey.
Fat loss is very different to weight loss as it is a true indication of the amount of fat that you have lost from your body and most importantly around your organs. If you didn’t know already, muscle weighs more than fat. You can remain exactly the same weight but have changed body composition by equally replacing the fat lost with muscle. Don’t get me wrong, the number on the scales is of some value, but sometimes we can get too wrapped up in it and let a simple piece a equipment that only tells us our total body mass in kilograms affect how we feel and act.
What are our beloved scales not telling us?
- How awesome you are!
- How consistently you are training!
- What your nutrition has been like!
- How much muscle you have?
- How much body fat you have?
- How much visceral fat you have?
- How much intracellular water your body is holding?
How can you find out your true body composition?
I have teamed up with Jude from Body Beneath (Inbody Scans Australia) to allow you to find out exactly what your body composition is.
